GIVING

growing_championsIndigenous Corporate Training Inc. has been actively giving back to community organizations since it began.  In the past we have provided assistance to the UBC Faculty of Medicine Palliative Care Donations Fund, Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre, and other individuals as a matter of giving back to the community.

Indigenous Corporate Training has been connected to Jonathan Redman as part of Growing Champions™, a program that connects businesses in British Columbia to local high-performance athletes who compete at national and international levels, but who have not yet qualified for Canada’s national teams. By supporting Jonathan, we are bringing his passion, drive, and energy into our organization and sharing it with our staff and clients.

jredmanJonathan, a snowboarder who currently lives and trains in Whistler, has been extremely successful in his athletic career. In February 2009, he placed third in the BC Provincial Slope Style competition.

Jonathan is also a member of the First Nations Snowboard Team and the BC Snowboarding team. When not competing he volunteers for the First Nations Snowboard Team as an instructor. He is the 2008 recipient of BC Athlete Voice’s Community Excellence Award and is featured in the BC Sports Hall of Fame Aboriginal Sports Gallery.

For Jonathan, funding from Indigenous Corporate Training will help pay for competition and travel costs, enabling him to continue to train hard and strive to be his best.

Launched in 2008 through a partnership between 2010 Legacies Now, Sport BC, PacificSport, BC Athlete Voice and the Province of BC, Growing Champions enables businesses and individuals to become actively engaged in BC’s sport system by directly funding local athletes on their journey to success.

UBC PALLIATIVE CARE DONATIONS FUND

For several years Indigenous Corporate Training has been providing training to the resident doctors of the Palliative Care department of the UBC Faculty of Medicine.  We are honoured to assist in the education of these doctors who perform great work  to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities.

ICT will not be considering any other giving opportunities until the start of 2012.
