Nanwakolas Council 3rd Annual Aboriginal Peoples Resource Opportunities Conference – May 9-11, 2011
Dallas Smith, President, Nanwakolas Council and Honourable Pat Bell, Minister of Forests, Mines and Lands are co-hosting the 3rd annual Aboriginal Peoples Resource Opportunities Conference, May 9 to 11th, 2011 in Nanaimo, BC.
This annual conference and trade show has established itself as a not to be missed opportunity to gain first hand, practical knowledge from successful Aboriginal Peoples partnerships in minerals & mining, forestry, tourism, fisheries, power production & transmission. The conference presents a unique opportunity to meet and mingle with Aboriginal leaders, resource sector representatives and government officials in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Dallas Smith says “The conference provides important opportunities to share perspectives, gain important insights, develop relationships and lay the foundation for increased investment and the creation of new opportunities for Aboriginal Peoples and the resource sector.”
“British Columbia has an abundance of natural resources – whether mining, forestry, or aquaculture – that we all derive economic benefits from. The past two conferences have provided excellent opportunities for businesses and Aboriginal Peoples to develop working relationships and business relationships to better share the benefits from our natural resources.” says, Honourable Pat Bell.
This year we are pleased to offer on May 9th the very instructive Working Effectively with Aboriginal Peoples™ course, taught by Bob Joseph, founder of Indigenous Corporate Training Inc.
The conference opens with an Ice Breaker event, 7 pm – 9 pm May 9th, 2011 at the stunning new Vancouver Island Conference Centre in the heart of old town Nanaimo.
