Just off the top of my head I think one organization to contact is First Nations’ Emergency Services. They have some great folks who I’m sure can help you.

One of the challenges that local government faces is ensuring that all of our residents are included in learning about Emergency Management. Opportunities exist to assist smaller communities become prepared in the event of major flooding, wildfires or other natural and human caused disasters, however the challenges is taking training and making it \work\ for the local needs. If there are Aboriginal people who have ideas on what will assist their communities, I would like to hear from them.
